First images of Gulftown, CPU core Westmere six

Circulating on the Net the first images of a sample of the forthcoming Intel high-end, based on the Westmere microarchitecture.
The successor to Bloomfield Gulftown will be called and will consist of six core made with the manufacturing process to 32 nanometers.
From the screenshot of CPU-Z software, you can deduct some of the technical features which, according to the new nomenclature Intel, should be identified as Core I9.
The socket will remain unchanged by allowing owners of motherboards LGA 1366 to make an easy upgrade after updating the BIOS. Remain the same chipset the Intel x58 Express.
The clock frequency of the six core (twelve thread with HyperThreading technology) is equal to 2.4 GHz, while the amount of cache amounts to 256 KB of second level for each core and 12 MB of shared third level.

The first version of the CPU Gulftown should replace the current Intel Core i7 Extreme 975 at a price close to the “psychological threshold” of $ 1000. The period should start marketing the first quarter of 2010.
