Microsoft acknowledges ’s open source as a threat

With the last budget Microsoft has realized that a fall in profits.

Among the reasons cited is the open source movement and two companions, Red Hat and Canonical, are among the reasons that 17% loss in profits. In a note is recognized as operating systems based on Unix are taking place especially in emerging markets where strong push to cut costs.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on Nintendo platforms

Two brand-related games Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been announced for the Nintendo platforms. Both will be released November 10, the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 formats XBox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

Speeding up file deletion in KDE4

Who are using KDE4, and in particular the new Dolphin file manager you will have noticed that the default deletion of files is a very slow! Perhaps more than erasing it would be better described as “moving in the trash.” For if you proceed with the elimination (shift + del) the problem does not occur.

Personally, the times were unacceptable to me, even on small files, required more than 5 / 6 seconds every time!

MacBook Pro hard disk storage really seem to be down on its luck this generation. First was the 3Gbps SATA transfers ( now fixed ), which honestly didn’t affected but a marginal percentage of users upgrading to SSD themselves. Now comes word from a number of irate users on the Apple support forums that claim their HDDs, specifically those spec’d at 7200RPM, are suffering from performance issues and some audible clicking / beeping sounds. We typically reserve our FCC exhibit ogling for cell phones as you well know, but this little guy just popped up and we couldn’t help but take notice.
